In nature, evolution responds to conditions. In design, there are no excuses. Whether it is a house, a tractor, a light switch, or a pair of boots, the responsibility is the same: do it properly. Proportion, material, comfort, durability, and construction must work together. Ifone fails, the object fails.

Much of what is produced today is designed for speed and return rather than longevity. That has never interested me.

I am not interested in fashion that expires. I am interested in refinement — studying what has endured, understanding why it worked, and adjusting it with care. Removing what is unnecessary. Keeping what matters. Serious work does not exclude humor, but humor should never weaken the object.

I design for myself first. If something meets my standard, it exists. If others connect with it, I consider that a privilege."
