Some projects begin with design. Others begin with a place.
These bucket hats are hand-crocheted in Lviv by a group of women working with the Ukrainian company Vbrani. Crochet has always required human hands — there are no machines for the technique — and every hat is made stitch by stitch using ecological cotton yarn spun in Portugal.
The design was developed between Stockholm and Palma and follows the same instinct that shapes the rest of Bum Society: straightforward objects made without much interest in trends
All profit from the Bum Society crochet hats is directed to the initiative Bring Kids Back UA, supporting the return of Ukrainian children who have been forcibly taken from their homes.
Our position is simple.
We choose to stand with the people who continue to work, create and hold on to ordinary life under circumstances most of us cannot fully understand.
