Virgilio

Work doesn’t just happen on its own.

Someone keeps it consistently moving forward.

Virgilio has been with us for decades. Long before this version of Bum Society existed and long before the new collection took shape.

He is based around Guimarães and spends his time between the places where the work actually happens. Tanneries, factories, suppliers.

Not as part of any one production step, but between all of them.

For a brand our size, that matters more than people think.

We don’t place large orders. We don’t fill production lines months in advance. Most of the time that means waiting.

Virgilio helps us avoid that.

He secures production time, follows materials, checks details and steps in when something gets delayed or needs to be adjusted.

Sometimes that means asking people for time they could use elsewhere.

Sometimes it means restarting machines to make one pair.

That doesn’t happen because of order volume.

It happens because people have worked together for a long time and built trust for even longer.

That trust is difficult to measure, but easy to notice when things start moving.

We have worked through enough collections together to know what that means.

And now we love once again getting to move forward.

With Virgilio, in and around Guimarães.
